February 29 Birthday: Pisces, Birthday Number 11 & Personal Year 2027

By Birthday Compass · Updated Oct 24, 2026 · 4 min read

If your birthday is February 29, this page gathers what numerology and Western astrology traditionally attach to it: a Pisces Sun, birthday number 11, and a Personal Year that moves from 5 in 2026 to 6 in 2027. Read it as a prompt for reflection, not a forecast.

February 29 sun sign: Pisces

With Pisces beginning on February 19, February 29 lands on day 11 out of 31. Early-season dates are usually written about as carrying the sign's qualities plainly, before they settle in. Because Pisces ends the zodiac just before the spring equinox, writers often describe it as a season of dreaming, reflecting and letting one cycle dissolve into the next.

In the usual descriptions, Pisces is imaginative, empathetic and fluid. Applied to work, the tradition puts it like this: “You may do best with creative freedom and work that has emotional meaning.” It is a traditional sketch, not a profile; keep what feels useful.

Water signs are traditionally described as emotional and intuitive — reading people and moods. In the classic four-element scheme, Pisces belongs to water alongside Cancer and Scorpio; the trio is usually pictured as empathetic and intuitive. As one of the four mutable signs, Pisces arrives as one season shifts into another, and its traditional keywords are versatility and learning on the move.

February 29 exists only in leap years. In 2026 and 2027, which are not leap years, many people born on the 29th celebrate on February 28 or March 1; the numbers on this page still use the original date.

Born in February

February birthdays traditionally come with amethyst as the birthstone and violet and primrose as the birth flower. February is the shortest month and the only one that changes length, gaining its 29th day every leap year.

Birthday number 11: the 29th

Numerology keeps 11 as a master number, traditionally linked with intuition and inspiration; it is read as an amplified version of 2, with more spark and more sensitivity.

Personal Year 2026 and 2027 for February 29

Because the month (2) and the day (2) never change, February 29 moves through the cycle one step a year: 5 in 2026 (change & experiments), 6 in 2027 (responsibility & service), 7 in 2028.

The 5 → 6 step is read as coming home after travel — less novelty, more attention to commitments and care. Traditionally a year focused on customers, team and commitments.

If you enjoy combining systems, note that Pisces's reputation for being imaginative lands in 2027 inside a 6 year, traditionally linked with responsibility & service.

2027 itself adds up to 11 → 2, so a Personal Year 6 plays out inside a partnership-flavored universal year. The full Personal Year 6 guide has more on what the tradition associates with it. Personal Year 6 in 2027

Below, the February 29 birthday's 2027 calendar: personal month numbers from January to December, with the 29th of each month and the keyword the tradition attaches to it.

If you like to time a new project to the calendar, the tradition points at February, April (the 29th is a Thursday) and June (the 29th is a Tuesday) (), the personal months linked with starting, announcing and stepping up.

Your birthday month, February 2027, is a personal month 8, linked with ambition and organizing resources. 2027 has no February 29, so there is no personal day for the birthday itself; for those who celebrate on February 28 it is personal day 9, and on March 1 personal day 1.

Themes are the traditional keywords for each personal month, offered for reflection. Nothing here predicts events.

Your Life Path: add the birth year

For February 29, the month reduces to 2 and the day to 11. Add your birth year's reduced digits and reduce once more (keeping 11, 22 and 33) and you have your Life Path. The calculator does it in your browser.

Years from 1940 to 2008. A year “adds to” 22 when its digits sum to exactly 22 (e.g. 1948 and 1984), which our method keeps as a master number. Note the master-number rows (22): numerologists who keep master numbers read those as their own Life Paths. February 29 exists only in leap years, so only leap birth years are used here (none between 1940 and 2008 adds to 4).

Questions to reflect on

1. What commitment would you like to honor fully in 2027?
2. When do you feel most at home in your work?
3. Who helps you ground your bigger ideas?

Treat these numbers as a symbolic calendar: something to plan with if it helps, and to ignore if it doesn't.
